Not sure who to choose as your GCC faculty advisor?
This person should be an adult who works at your school and who is interested in global issues. This should be someone you respect and with whom you have a good relationship. |
1) Making a choice
Think about the adults in your school who you are connected to, such as a teacher, coach or school club advisor, who would be interested in supporting your efforts throughout the year. This person could be someone who:
- Is interested in global issues (such as a global studies or history teacher)
- Is involved in service-learning/community service programs at your school (such as your student activities coordinator)
- Is someone you respect and with whom you have a good relationship
- Has been recommended by another adult at your school
2) Meet with your potential faculty advisor
Schedule a time to meet with your potential faculty advisor. Tell them about your interest in fighting global poverty and about how you found NetAid. Tell them about the GCC and the opportunity it presents for your school. Your excitement will surely inspire them!
You might want to share the GCC Leader Guidelines or direct them to the NetAid website for more information.
3) Once you get a YES, ask your faculty advisor to review the Faculty Advisor Pack and submit the completed Faculty Support Form
This form can be submitted via email, fax or an online link. Specific instructions for submitting can be found on the form itself.
4) Follow Up! It's your responsibility to ensure that your faculty advisor submits his/her form by the deadline.
