Alissa Pelc

Alissa Pelc is NetAid's senior development associate, where she manages and cultivates the foundation and corporate giving program.  Joining NetAid in 2004, she has played a central role in developing new program concept papers on youth engagement, including on issues such as young immigrants and development, global HIV/AIDS, hunger, universal access to education, and technological innovation to increase the impact of NetAid's youth programming.  Alissa works closely with members of the programs team to articulate NetAid's program needs, establish timelines and benchmarks for funders, and to manage NetAid's funder reporting system.  As one of the first professional development staff members at NetAid, Alissa oversaw corporate sponsorship and event management for NetAid's prestigious Global Action Awards.

Prior to NetAid, Alissa worked in public relations in San Francisco at Schwartz Communications, and was a development associate for Meals On Wheels.  In this role, she maintained the donor database, planned fundraising events, and assisted in writing direct mail campaigns and grant proposals.  Alissa shares a passion for youth development, and has worked as a teaching and library assistant at Francisco Middle School and as a classroom volunteer facilitator for Streetside Stories, a nonprofit that uses the power of storytelling to cultivate young people's voices.

Alissa graduated from Boston University with a BA in English Literature and has a strong interest in literature and journalism.
